Lost up here amongst the stars! (Copy)

Just lately I have made over a hundred silver stars. Some I have made as tiny plain stars, others have gemstones in them, plain bigger ones have been gifted to friends and family. But most of them will be part of pendants, earrings and rings as my Enchanted collection emerges.

But do stars have a meaning as being part of jewellery?

I like to think so.

Since time began, our ancestors have looked at the night sky, fascinated by the moon and constellations.

We've assigned symbols to those constellations throughout history, and created fascinating legends that endured the millennia. A great example of this is that stars helped the first explorers to find their way to new lands and then come back home again. Sailors in by gone times navigated their way across oceans by using the positions of stars.

Stars have historically given humanity hope; guiding us from above throughout time.

Even today, in a world full of screens, cars, and fast-paced lives, we continue to be fascinated by the stars. When we look up at the night sky, we still remember the legends we read as children, which can offer a sense of peace and serenity. Many of us may make a wish when we see a shooting star.

If there is one image that is bursting with symbolism it is the Star. Motivation, Protection, wishes and spirituality, the Star represents all of these.

Throughout history, star motifs have been a staple in the world of jewellery. These celestial symbols have been worn for centuries, but what exactly do they represent? The meaning behind star motifs varies depending on culture and time period. In ancient Egypt, stars were symbolic of the gods and their power over the universe. In medieval Europe, stars were associated with divinity and were often worn by religious figures. Today, stars are seen as a symbol of guidance and hope. Regardless of their intended meaning, there's no denying that star motifs add an enchanting touch to any piece of jewellery they adorn.
